Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME TLD is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are famous by. Initially, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to purchase john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Existing third-level names remained online.

You will have the chance to correct the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer code from the current registrar company and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. There are no specific conditions on who can grab a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the objective behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
